Global Thermal comfort

Global thermal comfort criteria

This encompasses the fulfillment of temperature balance in the human body i.e. the equality of heat generation and heat dissipation. These are measured by:

The Operative Temperature (OP)
The operative temperature is also called room or perception temperature.

Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied (PPD)
The expected percentage of all room users, who are not satisfied with the current room climate conditions, are enumerated with the PPD value. Ensuring the global thermal comfort criteria is a necessary, although not sufficient, prerequisite for the feeling of comfort of humans. In addition there are more individual criteria that must be met in order to guarantee the global thermal comfort. For this the different local thermal flux densities should be considered.
